The Small Wins That Matter

It’s easy to overlook the small things: getting through a hard morning or answering a message you didn’t have the energy for. Even letting yourself rest without guilt. These moments don’t look like milestones, but they are.

Because when you’re carrying something heavy, even small steps require strength. Packing up the Florida home we shared to move to Indiana for a new job is a good example. When you move, you purge the items that are no longer useful for your future. There is some grief in that but there is also some excitement about the future move and setting up in a new home. Packing items in boxes and carrying them to the moving truck or vehicle requires these small steps. Then, unpacking the memories of a life we left.

I’m learning to notice those moments. To give them the weight they deserve. Progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it looks like simply continuing. Moving forward in your life takes courage.
