ROAD WARRIOR: Week Three

Faith • Hope • Joy
A 6-Week Journey of Scripture, Music, Ministry, Family & Friendship

When the Road Leads Back to What Matters Most

Scripture: Psalm 127:3 — “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD…”

After conferences, television appearances, Bible studies, book conversations, and miles of highway, there is another destination that always feels different:

Home. Sometimes home looks like little boys. Grandsons. Laughter. Noise. Questions. Hugs. And the beautiful chaos that reminds you that life isn't measured only by accomplishments. Sometimes it is measured by moments.

A book award is meaningful. A television appearance is meaningful. An invitation to speak is meaningful. But spending time with family puts everything back into perspective. Because the little people in our lives don't care how many awards sit on the shelf. They care that you showed up. They care that you laugh while watching funny animal videos with them. They care that you listened. They care that you were there and took them to the Apple Farm to pick apples.

Perhaps that is another lesson of the Road Warrior: We shouldn't travel so much that we forget where our hearts live. Ministry matters. Calling matters. The work matters. But people matter, too.

Some moments can’t be postponed forever. A child's story. A grandson's laugh. A family meal. A hug at the door. An ordinary afternoon that becomes extraordinary simply because everyone was together.

We can become so focused on building something for the future that we forget to enjoy the people God has placed in our present.

The road warrior needs destinations. But the road warrior also needs home. So, take the picture. Eat the dessert. Play the game or play with slime. Listen to the story you've already heard five times.

Put down the phone. Laugh a little longer. Those ordinary moments may become some of your most treasured memories. The greatest measure of a life may not be how many places we traveled; it may be how fully we loved the people we encountered along the way.

🎶 WHAT’S ON MY FAITH PLAYLIST? Song of the Week: “House of the Lord” — Phil Wickham

Why it matters: Because joy doesn't only happen at ministry events. Sometimes joy happens in the living room.

Your turn: What memory are you creating with the people you love this week?

Same God. New Miles. Faith • Hope • Joy.

Until the next road… keep traveling with hope.
