ROAD WARRIOR: Week Two
Faith • Hope • Joy
A 6-Week Journey of Scripture, Music, Ministry, Family & Friendship
When the Road Becomes a Place of Worship
Scripture: Proverbs 3:6 — “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Some ministry moments happen on stages. Some happen around tables. And some happen in the quiet moments when women gather with open Bibles and open hearts. My journey to Pittsburgh for a women's Bible study reminded me that ministry doesn't always need a microphone.
Sometimes it needs a conversation. Sometimes it needs a testimony. Sometimes it needs someone willing to say, “I've been there too.”
That is one of the reasons I love traveling. Every destination has its own story. Every gathering has its own heartbeat. And every friendship adds another thread to the tapestry God is weaving. The older I get, the more I recognize that friendships aren't interruptions to ministry. They are part of ministry. The laughter. The meals. The conversations in the car. The “How are you really doing?” questions.
The moments when someone remembers something you said months earlier. These are holy moments, too. We often think ministry must be formal. We picture a pulpit, a conference room, a stage, a microphone. But Jesus often ministered in ordinary places with people, around meals, during conversations, on roads, and in homes.
Maybe that is why some of the most meaningful moments of our journeys happen when the schedule loosens, and the conversation deepens. A Bible study may have a planned lesson, but God can add an unplanned appointment. A meal may be ordinary, but the conversation around the table can become sacred. A friendship may begin with a simple hello and become a relationship that strengthens you for years.
So, as you travel your own road, don't become so focused on the destination that you miss the people God has placed beside you. Don't wait for a formal invitation to encourage someone. Sometimes your presence is the ministry. Sometimes listening is the ministry. Sometimes sharing your story is the ministry. And sometimes friendship itself is a gift from God.
Who has God placed on your journey who makes you feel more like yourself? Send them a message today. Tell them. Friendship should never be assumed. It should be celebrated.

Why it matters: A reminder that we don't always know what God is doing with the road ahead.
Your turn: Who has God placed on your journey who makes you feel more like yourself?
Same God. New Miles. Faith • Hope • Joy.
Until the next road… keep traveling with hope.
